Who We Are

S. Bradley “Brad” Rhorer is the founder of Rhorer Law Firm. He received his law degree, with honors, from Tulane Law School in 1990. He is licensed to practice in both Louisiana and Texas as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Louisiana, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas.

Brad has handled a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including: entertainment law; antitrust litigation; insurance coverage litigation; professional liability claims; securities fraud; unfair and deceptive trade practice suits; civil rights and employment discrimination cases; and personal injury claims. Brad has been involved in these matters from both the defense and plaintiff perspectives and has litigated cases in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Arizona, Tennessee, New York, and Indiana.

Brad formed Rhorer Law Firm in 1998 to devote his practice to serious personal injury claims and business and contract disputes. He is a proud member of the Louisiana Association for Justice (formerly the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association), Phi Beta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi.

 

Julie J. Baxter comes to Rhorer Law Firm with a background in both civil litigation and award-winning investigative journalism. She received her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees from the LSU Law Center in 2005, having earned her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism. Julie is licensed to practice law in Louisiana, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana, and is a member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana State and American Bar Associations.

Julie spent more than a decade reporting in radio and television news, covering the Louisiana Legislature, statewide politics, elections and high-profile Louisiana criminal trials. In 2001, Julie received the acclaimed Edward R. Murrow award for Investigative Reporting in Television while at WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, where she anchored the city’s top-rated weekend newscasts, and where she still appears as a legal and political analyst.

In 2006, Julie joined the Baton Rouge law firm of Moore, Walters, Thompson, Thomas, Papillion & Cullens, where she handled a variety of types of civil litigation, ranging from serious personal injury, wrongful death, and automobile accidents, to legal and medical malpractice cases. She joined Rhorer Law Firm in 2009.

Julie is a member of Council for a Better Louisiana’s statewide 2009 Leadership Louisiana Class, and serves as the 2009-2010 President of the Baton Rouge-Capital City Rotary Club. She chairs the Louisiana State Bar Association’s 2009-2010 Public Information Committee, and also serves on the LSBA's Legislation Committee. Julie teaches periodically as an adjunct Media Law professor at the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication. She also serves as a member on the boards of: The ARC Baton Rouge; Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge; Parkview Baptist School; BraveHeart Children in Need; the International Hospitality Foundation; and the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation.

 

Johnelle R. Williams joined Rhorer Law Firm in 1998 with experience in both the legal and medical fields.

Johnelle grew up in Denham Springs, Louisiana, and graduated from Denham Springs High School. After high school, she went to work with Forte and Tablada, Inc., a Baton Rouge consulting engineering and land surveying company. Thereafter, Johnelle began her legal career at the Baton Rouge law office of Joseph W. Greenwald, Sr. During her time with the Greenwald firm, Johnelle pursued further studies in the field of nursing at Our Lady of the Lake College, and subsequently earned her certification in Paralegal Studies through Baton Rouge College.

Today, Johnelle manages the Rhorer Law Firm office and is responsible for attorney-client correspondence and scheduling, as well as assistance with drafting discovery and legal filings. Johnelle is an integral part of Rhorer Law Firm’s daily practice, helping to provide information and personal assistance to clients as their cases progress through the legal system.

Johnelle is proud to have raised one daughter, Caitlyn, and to be a new grandmother. Johnelle enjoys camping, hiking, fishing and the great outdoors, and being “mom” to an American bulldog named “Daisy” and a 17-year-old lovable mutt named “Paige” – both adopted from local animal shelters.
